Kerma

Kerma is part of the Tentative list of Sudan in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Kerma was the capital of Sudan in the 3rd millenium - 2nd millenium B.C. and is now one of its largest archaeological sites. The remains of the old town include a 19m high mud brick structure, the "Western Deffufa". A vast cemetery with royal tombs has also been excavated.
